Giora Eiland Ltd is an Israeli registered company and a certified MOD exporter established by Major General Giora Eiland in 2007, after retiring from his service as the Head of the Israeli National Security Council (NSC). Company’s recent projects:

Provided a security expert opinion in a multinational arbitration between government-owned corporations, including analysis, comprehensive report and presentation in front of international tribunal.

Developed comparative methodology for assessing military norms and conducts during armed conflicts for an international initiative.

Provided national strategic consultancy to an African government, to promote its interests and position in the international arena.

Provided a security expert opinion for Israel’s national shipping company, including presentation in front of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Israeli Knesset.

Ongoing consultancy and advisory to Israel’s national defense industries.

About the Founder

Following an illustrious career in the Israeli army, Major General (Ret.) Giora Eiland headed the IDF’s Operation Branch, IDF’s Planning Branch and eventually Israel’s National Security Council. These positions placed him in the top security echelon within Israel and internationally. He leverages his experience and international relationships built over decades in the security and strategic planning fields in his ongoing consultancy.

Eiland served in all positions through the chain of command in the Israeli Army Parachutes and Infantry units, participated in the 1973 War, the 1976 Entebbe rescue operation, and as a battalion commander during the 1982 Lebanon War. Later on he served as commander of the Givati Infantry Brigade, commander of IDF Officers Academy, chief of Infantry & Parachutes Corp– as well as chief of Operations Division of the General Staff.

Israeli Governament | 2004-2006

  • Led strategic assessments for Israel’s Prime Minister on key security & foreign affair issues:

    • Israeli-Palestinian relations
    • Iran’s nuclear project
    • Security threats to Israel
    • Local & global terrorism
  • Led several homeland security projects & was responsible for the activity of the Israeli Counter Terrorism Department
  • Established the committee against cyber threats

Head of Planning Branch

Israel Defense Forces | 2001-2003

  • Led the preparation of comprehensive multi-year plans for the Israeli armed forces including organization & structure
  • Managed an annual budget of $12 billion
  • Interface between the government and military on international agreements & policy plans
  • Directly reported to Prime Minister and key cabinet
  • Met regularly with U.S., European, and other international players regarding Israeli-Palestinian relations
  • Led several homeland security projects & was responsible for the activity of the Israeli Counter Terrorism Department
  • Established the committee against cyber threats

Head of Operation Branch

Israel Defense Forces | 1999-2001

  • Responsible for the overall planning and monitoring of the IDF Operations by land, air, and sea.
  • Responsible for the redeployment of the IDF along the Lebanese border in May 2000. As part of the withdrawal, he led the agreement with the United Nations
